If those Pallbearers want the old city's dead, they'll dig where its great folk were buried. That's the palace ruins, west of here on the road to Darian's camp. I walked past them at dawn, and the ground there is turned over like a vegetable patch. Stop the diggers. Then gather up six of the bones they've dragged out of the opened tombs. I won't have the drowned dead pulled out of their rest for some grey woman's harvest. Bring them to me and I'll sing them back to sleep.
On Completion
Set them down there. Gently now. Every one of these was loved by someone once. I’ll bury them under the cabin roots, where no shovel will ever find them. And did you see what the diggers carried? Bone saws and grinding stones. They aren’t raising these dead. They’re milling them. There’s a Crucible sister at Aradia’s camp asking after you. She’ll want to hear that.
