Loot

Loot comes from creatures, quests, vendors, crafting, containers, and other objects in the world. See an item's page for its rewards and sources.

Creature Drops

Only a player or party that earns a creature's kill rewards can get items from its own tables and eligible World Loot tables.

Each table has its own chance to roll, which is not your chance at any one item inside it.
More about creature drops

How tables choose items

When a table rolls, each item in it that can drop gets its own roll, in order. A table with an item limit stops rolling once it is full.
A table with a minimum number of items fills any missing drops by picking items, favoring higher listed rates. Even an item with a listed rate of 0 can be picked this way, and no item is picked twice.

World Loot and level limits

World loot rolls after the creature's own loot, with its own tables. The creature's rank and level decide which world loot tables apply, and all of them share one item limit per kill.
For level-matched loot, an item with a positive level requirement drops only from creatures within 4 levels of that requirement. Items without a positive level requirement are not restricted by this level band.

Party size

A bigger party does not raise a table's or an item's drop chance.

Loot Chance and Luck

Loot Chance is a stat that affects ordinary creature drops. Item pages show drop chances without Loot Chance bonuses.

In this version of the game, raising Loot Chance, for example with Luck, makes ordinary creature drops rarer instead of more common. A table's minimum pick can still give you an item.

Items that open a chest

Use a bag to open its chest of possible loot. The item's page shows what can be inside.

In chests from a Soaked Bag or a Slime Covered Sack, the amount of each item that drops varies within its listed range. Some chests give no more than a set number of items.
Every time a chest opens, each listed item gets its own chance roll. A chest with an item limit can remove some of the successful rolls.

Supply Packs

Open a supply pack to get items from the table for your class and level. The pack's page shows what you can get and how to obtain the pack. The details of each pick are below.

The Adventurer's Supply Pack has a loot table for each class and level range, and gives you items from the one that matches you.
The pack is gone once you take its last item. Leave anything inside and you keep the pack.
How supply pack picks work
You get 1 item, or more if the table says so, and the table's bonus chance can add 1 more, up to its maximum. You never get the same item twice. Items with a higher drop rate are more likely, and even items with a drop rate of 0 can drop, because the game counts every rate as at least 0.01.
Each item can come from world loot instead, at the table's world loot share. World loot is gear from the world's loot tables that your class can use, that matches the table's armor type and stats, and whose level requirement is from 4 below to 2 above your level. Until your first gear drop, it also skips items above your level.

Cloth from Kills

Some creatures drop cloth on top of their normal loot. Each cloth's page shows base rates before loot bonuses by creature level.

Humanoid and Undead creatures have a 75% chance to drop 1 to 3 pieces of Linen Cloth, Wool Cloth, Silk Cloth, Spellweave Cloth, or Runeweave Cloth. Heroic creatures with an affix multiply that chance by the Heroic affix loot multiplier, and drop rate world modifiers multiply it again.
The creature's level decides which cloth it drops. Below a cloth's start level, that cloth has only a small chance. From its start level, its share changes steadily until it reaches its final value.

World Objects

Some objects in the world hold loot, such as graves and sacrificial altars.

Using an object such as a grave opens a chest. If an object can open several chests, it picks one at random. Each item in the chest rolls its own chance, just like a bag's chest. These chests can give Gold, Skeleton Finger, Fish Bait, Human Skull, Femur, Teeth, and Ancient Coin.

Quest Items

Some items only drop or appear while a quest needs them.

Quest items only drop from creatures while one of your quests has an open task for them.
During a hunt quest, each creature of the hunt that you or your pet kill drops 1 pickup, as long as you still need more of the item. You get the item when you use the pickup. Hunt pickups give Wolf Pelt, Unmarred Bear Hide, and Boar Haunch.
A quest pickup only works while its quest task is open and you still need the item. It gives its amount, but never more than you still need, and some pickups also need an earlier task finished or certain items in your bags. Quest pickups give Eagle Feather, Vial of Thaldrin Water, Fallen Crusader's Signet, Tainted Grain Sample, Grain Sack Tag, Osric Pell's Ledger, Bones of the Drowned, Wren's Badge

Dungeon Finder

The Dungeon Finder sends you to a dungeon that you choose, or to a random one when you queue for a Random run.

Finishing a Random run of the Dungeon Finder, with every required boss defeated, gives you 1 Adventurer's Supply Pack. If your bags are full, you can claim it later. Choosing the dungeon yourself or leaving early gives no pack.
