The dead of Barrowdeep were priests and wardens once, and they were buried wearing the amulets of their order. The necromancer's craft has twisted those blessed things into anchors that chain each soul to its rotting corpse. Every shambling thing you see down there was a brother or a sister of the faith, denied the rest they earned. Slay the risen dead and bring me eight of their amulets, so that I may cleanse them of that foul work and bury them again with the rites they were denied so long ago.
On Completion
Feel how they hum, even now. It will take me a week of vigils to quiet them all, but that is my burden, and I carry it gladly. I will see every one of these cleansed and laid back into consecrated ground where they belong. The dead of Barrowdeep owe you their peace, and the living owe you more than they will ever know. Take your pick of these; the jeweler in the village owed me a favor, and the blessing is my own.
