There's something unnatural about the storms rolling through here. I've been scouting long enough to know the difference between a real blizzard and something… wrong. At night, if you listen close, you can hear it, screaming, carried on the wind from the east. There's a frozen lake out that way, and the things haunting it… banshees, pale and shrieking, drifting across the ice. Their wailing whips the cold into something vicious, storms that shouldn't be there, winds that cut right through fur and steel. As long as they're out there, the weather's only going to get worse. Head to the lake and silence five of them. Maybe then this camp can stop feeling like a grave.
On Completion
The wind's changed. Can you feel it? Quieter… warmer, even, if you can call anything out here warm. That screaming on the wind, it's gone. I hadn't realized how much it had gotten under my skin until it stopped. Whatever those things were mourning out on that ice, they can do it somewhere else now. You've given this camp its first peaceful night in weeks, friend. I won't forget that.
